The Chatushshasti Upachara
Offer Puja

Offer each Upachara in turn, in the order of worship, and receive Divine Blessings.

Begin with Gandam, the offering of sacred sandal paste.

The Blessings Open
Receive Them In Order
  1. Cup The Flame
    The purificatory blessing rests in the flame. Cup your palms over it, and draw them to your eyes. Three times.
  2. Teertham
    The blessing is consecrated in the holy water. Receive, and absorb it.
  3. Prasadam
    What was offered as Naivedyam returns to you on the banana leaf, carrying the blessing. Receive it with gratitude.
  4. Kumkum
    The sacred vermilion, the prasad Of The Divine Mother, is placed at your brow. Receive it, and bow your head.
  5. Sit
    Remain seated a little while, and let the flow of energy settle. Rise when your heart is full.
The Puja Is Complete. Pranam.
