The Worship Of The Divine Mother Maa Sri Lalitha TripuraSundari, Offered By Your Own Hand

This Digital Temple is a threshold where the devotee performs. Nothing here is watched from a distance, and nothing is performed on your behalf: the hand that offers is your own. Nothing is booked, nothing is priced, and nothing is promised in return.

The received tradition of the Sri Chakra Puja itself teaches that those unable to procure the ingredients of the worship may offer in their place a single drop of water. The offering was never the ingredient. What is offered with a sincere heart, The Divine Mother Receives as whole. This Online Puja is that drop of water, offered without apology.

✦ The Shape Of The Worship ✦

  1. 1
The Bell And The Two Lamps
    Entering the sanctum
The worship begins as it does in the Temple: the bell is rung by your own hand, and the two lamps are lit at the threshold.
  2. 2
    Darshan
    Being Seen
The veil parts, and The Divine Mother Is Beheld. Ten quiet breaths are kept before anything is offered.
  3. 3
    The Alankaram
    Drawn from the sixty-four Upacharas
Water at the Sacred Feet, the bath, the red silk of dawn, the crown of nine jewels, the vermillion in the hair parting, the garlands of every season, and the ascent of the great Chakra throne.
  4. 4
    The Five Offerings
    Gandham, Pushpam, Dhupam, Dipam, Naivedyam
Each offering is made by hand, and each carries its inner meaning, given below.
  5. 5
    Karpura Nirajanam
    The Arati
The flame is carried in slow circles before The Divine Mother, by your own hand.
  6. 6
    The Navavarana
    The journey inward
Through the nine Sacred enclosures of the Sri Chakra, from the Bhupura to the Bindu, one flower offered at each.
  7. 7
    Samarpanam And Prasadam
    The offering of the fruit
All this worship, and its every fruit, is offered To The Divine Mother. The Divine kumkum is taken to the brow.
  8. 8
    The Return To The Heart
    The close of the worship
The Divine Mother Is Received back into the Heart. Rest there, In The Heart.

✦ The Inner Meaning Of The Five Offerings ✦

  1. 1
    Gandham
    The sandal paste
To remember the Divine Name always: that is the true sandal paste.
  2. 2
    Pushpam
    The flowers
The senses, softened into flowers, are laid at the Sacred Feet.
  3. 3
    Dhupam
    The incense
The six enemies of the heart rise and thin like smoke.
  4. 4
    Dipam
    The lamp
To behold The Divine Mother: that is the true lamp.
  5. 5
    Naivedyam
    The food offering
All that is seen, known, and experienced, offered.

The offering was never the ingredient.

The deeper practice of the Sri Chakra Puja, with its Sacred sounds and disciplines, is Received from a living Guru, in person, and is not taken from a page. What is offered here is the devotion itself: the acts of the worship, made by your own hand, with a sincere heart.

The shape of this worship is drawn from the temple’s received Sri Chakra Puja tradition and from the temple’s own teaching, “The Sri Yantra & The Nine Enclosures”.
